I've got an enquiry by a football league who want a website where they can have results, fixtures, top scorers, league tables etc.. I could develop this from scratch but I suspect it may be beyond their budget so am wondering if anyone knows of any packages that already do this that I can integrate into a website?

Toying with a re-design of my site, I am wondering is a one-page site good for SEO? I'm thinking of having my content on one page, and using jQuery effects to either scroll or slide to the relevant section. I haven't got much content, brief intro, folio & contact details.

I'd like a basic SLR camera that I can use to take some good quality photographs for use on the web. There's nothing worse when a client cupplies me with 100px x 100px gif images expecting me to use them so I thought I'd look at learning some photography skills. Anyone recommend a decent camera to start with?

How do you go about it? The ENOM Reseller account I have with my hosting is much more expensive than sites like 123reg - anything wrong in buying it there and transferring it to the client if they need it?

So I made the common mistake of giving the work out before receiving payment.... I created a logo for someone, got it approved by the client and put it online then sent the invoice to be paid. Client said he would pay it first thing on Monday and all sounded well. 3 months on and no payment, logo still in use & no reply to emails. I still have FTP access to the site and can replace the new logo with the old one which was there originally. What do I do.. cut my losses or take my logo back until payment is made? This will be the firs and last time I do such a thing...

Never heard of ebuyer.com? Where you been hiding? I believe they have a turnover of over 300m so they're certainly no corner shop. As for the laptop, nothing wrong with it, looks a very good laptop. Don't take any notice of the brand snobbery above.

I like your current one. I prefer it when sites make it obvious what they're about.. depends who you're targetting, but that's just me. I thought the second was some sort of online game when i first looked. Good though.

Be careful with the maintenance, set a limit else they'll take the p***. Also dont underprice the hosting, build up some regular income with it.

Yes, I can find them by Google but i never use images from there as they may very well be copyrighted. BlueDreamer - Would Sky give them out do you think?

First thing I do when I get a call from a number that I dont recognise is Google it. Takes a few seconds and very useful for avoiding sales calls. I'm really confused as to why anyone would offer a website for £199 to a web designer?

You need to think about more than the time you spend making the website. How much time are you going to spend liaising with them to get their opinions, make changes, gather content etc... I'd say absolute minimum £500 but thats me.

You have nothing to worry about then . Be sure to declare everything you have made before the last 3 months too as if you are ever at the wrong end of a HMRC investigation (it can be completely random) they can go through the last seven years of your financial history.
