Hi, Hoping someone can help me here. I am organising a charity event and am trying to build a website to enable entrants to submit their details into a database to collate said details. I used to dabble in basic webdesign about 10 years ago with frontpage and a lot has changed since then. I signed up with dream hosting because the online sales chat person told me I could easily create a basic website, database and form. Now I am struggling to put the home page together with their online site builder!! ( I know, I know!). I have asked dream for some support and they tell me this is now not so simple and have directed me to a tutorial document which looks like rocket science to my little old brain. Can somebody point me in the right direction please? Is it really difficult ad have I gone down the wrong route? I feel like I have been mugged by dream hosting!

I am trying to creating an image on a website that changes between two images, i assume this is a flash movie? I am a stranger to flash but have worked through a tutorial and managed to create the two images on different layers. I cannot get them to run consecutively. Am I barking up the wrong tree here? is there a simple function in DW that will do this? if i need flash how do I get the timeline to alternate the two images?

I agree but he is just learning with a budget package. Who knows one day he may be a ceo of a giant web design co, so any help we can get hime is appreciated.

Hi, I want to create a page where clicking on an image plays a wav file. i have tried to link each image to each individual file but a click just opens windows media player. Itried the plugin root, which as you probably know sticks a real player thingy next to the image, the problem there is the wavs all play as the page loads. Hi, Loved the look and feel of the site, very original. As someone just starting out and concentrating on getting the nuts and bolts right, this is an inspriational site in terms of creative impact. Have spent lots of time on content of www.spouseannounce.co.uk perhaps you could comment on wether you feel the "straight" look of the dreamweaver templates would make it less attractive to return to?

Thanks again to all who suggested the newsletter mailers. I have down loaded the file and unzipped. This gives me a whole load of unzipped files, loads of scripts etc but no blindingly obvious way forward. Do I just copy all the unzipped files into a new folder in my local copy of the site and then upload? If so how do i then access the mailer? Hi, I want to send a periodical newsletter to members that have subscribed to a website. I guess I need to create a database as I want the newsletter to appear to go to each individual only with their name in a "Dear xxxxx" field. DOH! Just found it staring me in the face!

Hi, i have just done a basic dreamweaver course and learned in dreamweaver 6 to do dropdown menus with layers and div tags. Now in CS3 it appears the way to do that is with sprys. I have worked out how to construct a spry and then I copied it into all the pages on the site I am working on as a general navigation bar, www.spouseannounce.co.uk but the spry took on it's own colour scheme and the text is hard to read and I cannot edit it. I have looked at adobe help but it doesnt lead me to the answer, can anyone help please?
