I want to create a page where clicking on an image plays a wav file. i have tried to link each image to each individual file but a click just opens windows media player. Itried the plugin root, which as you probably know sticks a real player thingy next to the image, the problem there is the wavs all play as the page loads. How can I get the wavs to play individually on command please?

http://www.wimpyplayer.com/ is your answer, you can add flash based play buttons to play your sound files. BTW you'd be better off using .mp3 format for your sound files, .wav's tend to have a bigger file size and take longer to download.
