Domain Handover
How would i go about obtaining a domain name that a clients old designer owns or runs? What would i need to advise that person to be doing with this domain name so i/client can take it over, apart from the DNS change what would i ask them to do for me if they are willing to?

Absolute positioning
Thank you for your valuable input i have been trying all sorts to resolve without any luck. I would have been lost without a little help from someone who clearly knows what they are talking about, Thanks you again.

Absolute positioning
I have come to a dead end with this and tried different ways so that IE6 will render my page correctly but it just isnt to be unless someone on here can rescue me. The last straw was using absolute positioning on my contact page for a google map which IE6 laughs at me once again and does not position it where i want to. Can some please have a butchers at it and see if they can advise me on what i can do to get the problem sorted. If there isnt a resolve is there a way of hiding the map with some java if a user is using IE6? http://www.o18.org.uk/contact.php

Logo been exploited
Thanks Tery and Diz, I was just curious really i wasn't sure if they had the right to. Strange seeing your design being taken and used everywhere but i suppose if i did'nt want it to be used anywhere else other then the website i should have stated that within the contract terms and conditions.

Logo been exploited
I designed a Logo for someone that then used it to produce a sign, merchandise and even took the EPS apart and used it in other parts of the business set up. What i want to know, What can i do about this? Also do i have any right in moaning about it with me not stating in the contract what the logo is to be used for?

Javascript & W3C Validation
Yes thats true so here goes, Line 18, Column 44: character "&" is the first character of a delimiter but occurred as data if ((version >= 5.5) && (version < 7) && (document.body.filters)) ✉ This message may appear in several cases: •You tried to include the "<" character in your page: you should escape it as "<" •You used an unescaped ampersand "&": this may be valid in some contexts, but it is recommended to use "&", which is always safe. •Another possibility is that you forgot to close quotes in a previous tag. Line 25, Column 29: an attribute specification must start with a name or name token var strNewHTML = "<span " + imgID + imgClass + imgTitle✉ An attribute name (and some attribute values) must start with one of a restricted set of characters. This error usually indicates that you have failed to add a closing quotation mark on a previous attribute value (so the attribute value looks like the start of a new attribute) or have used an attribute that is not defined (usually a typo in a common attribute name). Line 25, Column 29: document type does not allow element "span" here var strNewHTML = "<span " + imgID + imgClass + imgTitle Line 80, Column 132: Attribute "onload" exists, but can not be used for this element. …one" width="250" height="21" onload="fixPNG(this)"/></h1> Line 18, Column 26: XML Parsing Error: xmlParseEntityRef: no name if ((version >= 5.5) && (version < 7) && (document.body.filters)) ✉ Line 18, Column 27: XML Parsing Error: xmlParseEntityRef: no name if ((version >= 5.5) && (version < 7) && (document.body.filters)) ✉ Line 18, Column 38: XML Parsing Error: StartTag: invalid element name if ((version >= 5.5) && (version < 7) && (document.body.filters)) ✉ Line 18, Column 43: XML Parsing Error: xmlParseEntityRef: no name if ((version >= 5.5) && (version < 7) && (document.body.filters)) ✉ Line 18, Column 44: XML Parsing Error: xmlParseEntityRef: no name if ((version >= 5.5) && (version < 7) && (document.body.filters)) ✉ Line 25, Column 28: XML Parsing Error: error parsing attribute name var strNewHTML = "<span " + imgID + imgClass + imgTitle✉ Line 25, Column 28: XML Parsing Error: attributes construct error var strNewHTML = "<span " + imgID + imgClass + imgTitle✉ Line 25, Column 28: XML Parsing Error: Couldn't find end of Start Tag span line 25 var strNewHTML = "<span " + imgID + imgClass + imgTitle✉ Line 30, Column > 80: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: script line 12 and span … + "\', sizingMethod='scale');\"></span>"…✉ Line 35, Column 9: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: head line 3 and script </script>✉ Line 47, Column 7: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: html line 2 and head </head>

Javascript & W3C Validation

Button roll over problem

Button roll over problem
Java is a little beyond me would i be ok in using only one image to be preloaded or do all four need to be filled in for the snippet to work? Also this snippet would it help in how fast a pages images would display? Reason i ask is that i have another problem where i feel the page loads up relatively slow due to a number of images, so was wondering if that would help in fixing it?

Button roll over problem
I had a crack at sorting this problem myself but without success so i'm hopeing someone can look at this code and suggest the correct fix. What happens is on page load up when i hover over my button the background dissapears for a split second and then appears. I thought the following would sort that out but it hasnt, can anyone rectify this code for me? #menu1 { width: 200px; float:left; padding:25px; } #menu1 ul { text-align:center; list-style-type:none; margin:0; padding:0; } #menu1 li { display: inline; /* for IE5 and IE6 */ } #menu1 a { color: #000000; text-decoration: none; font-size: 12px; display: block; width: 240px; background-image:url(images/button2.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:5px; padding-top:10px; } #menu1 a:link, #menu1 a:visited { background-image:url(images/button1.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; } #menu1 a:hover { background-image:url(images/button2.png); color: #339933; font-size:16px; } #menu1 li a#current2 { background-image:url(images/button2.png); color: #000; }

Image load delays
I was thinking I shouldnt be getting the problems after reducing images as much as possible, could it be the testing i'm doing? One of the tests i'm doing it refreshing the page while already on it and it seems to go crazy and some images just dont load up or the page then becomes patchy.
