How would i go about obtaining a domain name that a clients old designer owns or runs? What would i need to advise that person to be doing with this domain name so i/client can take it over, apart from the DNS change what would i ask them to do for me if they are willing to?

How would i go about obtaining a domain name that a clients old designer owns or runs? What would i need to advise that person to be doing with this domain name so i/client can take it over, apart from the DNS change what would i ask them to do for me if they are willing to?

 

You need to get the domain name transferred to your own account (if you have one already), then you can change the DNS to point to the correct server yourself.
