  1. I think the site aesthetically is great and polished. Maybe the background needs to be a bit more darker, it kind of distracted me. I also think the dude with the camera, you need to refine those edges a bit more. Don't like how it stacks up against the dark background. I see three animations on the site on different blocks of content, I kind of like to have one or two, at the most. My main critique though, has to do with performance; the site weighs over 1.5 megs, which is a crapload if you ask me. Try reducing the size of the site and images and the amount of requests in jQuery; see if you can put all the scripts in ONE file, and do conditional requests to serve those where they are deemed as necessary (like if page == contact serve the necessary scripts). I see a lot of them are inline too, which again, I am not fond of. The site took it's while to load. Other than that, great job dude!!
  2. Can you decrease the speed a bit when I scroll to the right? If I scroll too fast it goes ballistic..lol
  3. Oh sorry Ben, I meant DUMP... man that was a terrible typo, but you know what I meant. I would put the top part on auto-play and with some arrows and maybe some text below each image, something descriptive in one or two words, perhaps the name of the painting? The rest, is spot on.
  4. Mate revise the width. It goes overboard at 1280px. Not everybody has monitors this size.. yet. Try to work with 960px, the content needs to be in that range. Also the grass, great, I look at it, but what does it tell me? Not much. The logo, I love, I would do wicked lighting effects with my entire site based on the logo. A lot of glow on my site, on black. Check out these amazing sites that use amazing light effects, your logo can definitely go hand in hand with those kind of light effects. Edit: Damnit I cannot post links as I am a n00b and haven't reached 25 posts yet.
  5. Mate for being 17 you are on the right track, albeit a lot to go. I know kids your age who can barely use Excel. Do not be discouraged by harsh words, it's just helping you to make WOW designs and trust us, you can do it. Be inspired by other sites, and things and work your way around.
  6. I would perhaps not make the shadows so hard, specially on the headers. Also, a bit of colors to complement the gray either cold or warm colors, it just feels to neutral being black, white and gray.
  7. I would dumb the scrolling right, it's something I try to avoid in any design. Users dislike to scroll from left to right. Only up and down w00t
  8. Mate it needs work. A lot of work. Like Jason said, do mockups in PS and then show us, we should know more or less if something will be interactive or not. Do not be discouraged by the hard words of Jason, as they are spot on. You can do great things, but every start is difficult/hard. Also, find some inspiration as to what to do. By the way, I don't know if it has been said or not, but you need a new logo. Great logos are the spears of great companies and thus, great sites .
  9. I like the first version the most because the logo stands out in a great way, plus the way the menus are ordered is very original. Not to mention that it looks clean and ready to go IMO. Good stuff btw.
