Thanks for the reply, i've had a play about but just cant get it looking good enough, here is what ive managed but i dont like it.... see attached picture I've also borrowed some ideas from vectors i found on the net but i want to incorporate the omega symbol into them somehow but i cant with a sh*t looking omega symbol!I've also attached some other ideas i had that i'd like the symbol in somehow. The last one i have uploaded is somethingi tried making into a omega symbol with rounded edges like the n in the pic with omega lectrical under it but it really didnt go well at all. Hi all, Im very new to using Illustrator but ive been playing around a bit and watch youtube vids etc but im having real trouble getting anything 3D to look good, im trying to get the omega symbol in 3D so i can change the colour on the sides etc making them different from the front, also making stuff like shiny too, how do you make a circle look round? Also with text, how do you get a reflection of the text under the original text? I can find photoshop tutorials for stuff like this but not much for illustrator. Any help would be great. Hi all, I would like to learn more and making good quality websites like alot of you guy on here do, i have only ever used the programs that build it for you but let you add bits and edit here and there, these are obviously very limited to what is really possible! I have photoshop CS4 extended, and that is it at the moment. What can i do to create some good looking website? is photoshop adaquote? I looked at a tutorial using HTML and CSS, they were very basic ones but with the help i can do a bit. But what i dont get is how the html text ends up on a great looking background and how you create fancy buttons (link) on the sites etc etc, I have seen lots of tutorials on here but is there one that starts at the very begining ang goes through the hole process of building a site, adding photos, maybe audio, and also the animated stuff like lightening flashing etc. Any help would be great, as im looking at doing a course very soon and want to know what id be best doing, i have a windows pc with IE8 on it, but hope to get a imac soon. Socreative - I know i wanted the truth but would it have hurt to give a bit of creative criticism, saying "its bad" doesnt say which parts, fair enough maybe its all bad but points for improvement would help us greatly. As for hiring someone to do it, well its all down to money as Adamjhunt said. Thanks for the replies, as for the amount of pics, we felt it was a bit empty without them and thought people would like a visable image of what they where loking for. We are trying to get a proper logo hence why thats an area thats not too great at present. What makes it finicky to navigate? What could we do with the design to make it look less homemade? CCS means nothing to me, i have seen it mention on here in alot of threads but i dont know what it does? Totally agree with the PDF's opening in a new window, the amount of times ive thought a new window opened up and i closed the pdf to find i'd lost the site completely We are aware of the big white spaces at the bottoma nd will get rid asap 247 is highlighted due to us offering a 24hr 7day a week service, although having looked at the site today it doesnt make that clear at all. How would you go about the video/slideshow without quicktime? Thanks again for all the points you have raised. Shawn

Hi all, Im new here and very new to using photoshop but love all the stuff you can do with it, been watching youtube vids on how to do this and that but they dont always come out as planned!! :-( Anyways my question is...... I run a electrical contracting company, we are fairly new and are still sorting out the website and business cards etc etc. Our name is Omega Electrical Services and at present our logo is "borrowed" from google images due to us not having a proper one. As per our name the logo we would like involves either the omega symbol...Ω.....or we use it in the word omega like so.....ΩMEGA ELECTRICAL SERVICES This design will be on t-shirts, letter heads, vans, business cards, website etc etc etc The colour for the logo is not set in stone, it needs to look good on a white background but also on black t-shirts. We currently have a brightish blue colour but our website is moving to be a greyish look. Website is www.omegatesting.co.uk Any thoughts on this or examples would be great as like i say im not great using PS at present. i have PS CS4 if it makes any difference.
