Matt Maclennan reacted to andy9l in jQuery slider missing after z-index tweakingThe slider wrapper has a z-index of -1, so it's below the body.

Matt Maclennan reacted to Pete Prosper in Floats affecting footer positionAdd "clear: both" to the footer div so that it reads:
#footer { height: auto; width: 100%; border-top: 3px #006837 solid; width: 800px; margin: 0 auto; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; font-size: 8pt; clear: both; }
Edit: The reason why this fixes your issue is because the "clear" property defines where floated elements cannot be. By setting clear to "both", you're saying that floated elements cannot be on the right or left side, therefore moving the footer below the image

Matt Maclennan reacted to DigitalSquid in Changing nameservers on GoDaddy without interfering with emailIf you're unsure then, follow sash's advice and contact GoDaddy's support team.
If you're feeling adventurous then have a look here:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/680/managing-dns-for-your-domain-names
You'll need to manually change the DNS records for your domain. The MX records control the email so don't touch them. The ones you're interested in are the A and CNAME records. You'll need the IP address for your 123-Reg hosting and probably have to add the domain somewhere in the 123-Reg control panel so it recognises it when you start pointing traffic towards it.

Matt Maclennan reacted to Ste Hughes in Interview AdviceNo idea.
but best tip I can give for any sort of interview is interview them as well.
Ask them questions. Something like "if someone screws up in your department how do you deal with it..."
I've given interviews and it is so much more impressive to have someone like that than someone who will ask nothing. Its like they are not serious or do not want to be there.
Ask what the department does, ask what the interviewers role in the department is, ask if your allowed to take your shows off in the office if you're stuck... it shows your thinking about being part of the team ect.

Matt Maclennan got a reaction from Ash Scott in Dropdown Div Wordpress LoginHi Ash!
For a quick job I have done before, I have used this to good effect! Obviously you can edit the CSS and images inside the files as you require.
You just put the login form in the appropriate div, and make sure that the form has an action which is posted to the relevant PHP file you are creating.
Hope this helps!

Matt Maclennan reacted to webdeveloper93 in User role inserted into comments section instead of User Nameits poorly coded code, heres a few things i notice off the bat.
1.Your using mysql instead of the newer mysqli or PDO
2.Your not using mysqli_escape_string any where to prevent againest mysql injections
3.Your using session_is_registered which is DEPRECATED as of PHP 5.3.0. so you should just do
if(isset($_SESSION['admin'])){ // }
4.Your not checking if your variables are set before actually grabbing values, this prevents undefined index errors from building up in your error log..
like i said these are just a few

simple create a field in your comments table that says pid for page id, then every time u write a comment on a certain page insert the page id u have at the top in your url which i assume is id=2, then you can display comments like this specific to each page
$id = (isset($_GET['id'])) ? mysql_real_escape_string($_GET['id']); $comment_select = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `comments` WHERE `pid` = '$id'")

Matt Maclennan reacted to Meshach in IE vs. FFFor IE6 double margin set your divs to display:inline;
-
Matt Maclennan reacted to notbanksy in IE vs. FFUse a CSS reset at the beginning of your stylesheet. That should even things out across the browsers for you, except for the IE6 double margin bug of course!
A very simple reset would be
* {margin:0;padding:0;}
But I recommend a more comprehensive one like this one from yahoo http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/reset/
