Looks like no one is able to recommend a free host to suit your requirements. May we suggest you Google - FREE WEB HOSTS. We did and there are quite a number for you to consider. I'm sorry we cannot recommend any personally - having not used them. But be sure to read their terms and conditions and contact their sales/support staff with any questions you have and test the times and quality of their response. Your company should own the domain name. To find out simply contact the registrar. If you do not know who the registrar is then do a WHOIS search - eg http://www.who.is/ Once you have confirmed the registrar you can simply leave the domain with them and change the DNS settings to point to a new server or obtain the Transfer Key from them to submit to another registrar to transfer the domain. [be careful - have your email addresses setup on your new server before editing the DNS so you do not lose emails] Hosting a website on your company server is very dangerous unless you know exactly what you are doing. The server has to be accessible via the www and as such can be very exposed to hackers, viruses, Trojans etc. Your anti viral software and firewalls will be tested to the max. Why risk it when you can host the website on an independent server with an outside host for literally $3 - $5 per month. This is an incredibly small investment for peace of mind. A good question - but not one that has an easy answer. You see it all revolves around server load. You can host almost anything on a shared server until it begins to use more server resources than that deemed 'fair use', so it does not slow the server down at the detriment of others sharing it. So any sites that you expect will generate high CPU usage via high traffic loads, interactive games, large ecommerce sites, volume email requirements etc should be candidates for a dedicated server, where your high usage will not adversely affect other hosting clients. However, having said this, most sites are fine with shared hosting these days due to so many hosts offering very generous load limits. It it then does become necessary in the future many hosts will transfer your account to a Dedicated server for you, if it ever becomes necessary to upgrade. We hope this helps.

Rather than start from scratch and design your own real estate site you may like to consider trying a free open source program like Open Realty. [http://www.open-realty.org] Programs like this are quite easy to adapt and should also be available from your web host as a '1 click' install, for easy setup. All the best.

We had a similar request from one of our clients recently and we could not find a way via opencarts css. So one of our developers simply advised them to add this after the header on the 'header.tpl' file - <body bgcolor="#000000"></body> [change code to your colour choice] EG: /catalog/view/theme/yourtheme/template/common/header.tpl Maybe just a quick fix - but it works! We will PM you the clients site so you can see if that is the look you want.

1/ Your client has actually been in breach of the contract since November not paying you the full amount agreed upon for your services. If you do not mind us saying, you should have addressed this issue much earlier and in fact used this breach as the reason for withdrawing your services. 2/ We have never heard of email redirects from cpanel causing such a problem with Gmail. We suggest you contact cpanel direct to hopefully reassure yourself that there are no grounds for the clients claim. Best of luck.

You can register a top level domain [TLD] like a .com, .net, .org etc up to 10 years max. An .au domain 2 years max.

Yes I agree Simple Machine Forum [smf] is probably the easiest although phpBB2 [or higher] is also free and very good. Check to see if your host has a '1 click' install option like we do - this makes installation so easy. All the best.

Yes, I agree check out vimeo.com before you go to the expense of anything other than a good shared hosting plan. And yes buy one that states your space and traffic quota rather than unlimited which in actuality does not exist. Best of luck.

Sorry to here of your plight, but as others have said it is unfortunately quite common with that host. I too suggest you move to another host that offer phone or max 1 hour ticket support 24/7. You will find that other hosts have much easier control panels as well. And some for the same price if not less than you are paying now. Yes, you can move to any shared hosting provider, Linux is probably the cheapest, for a hosting plan that will allow you to incorporate php and databases. Fortunately, there are many to chose from that are very reasonably priced if you search the net. I found this new web host search directory offering free ads to the first hosts to list with them. Not sure if the site will take off as its only new - but WDF hosts may want to jump in first to get the extra free exposure. Being one of the first I grabbed the top ad for the next few weeks FREE! I guess if the site becomes popular we may have to pay - but may as well get in now while its free. All the best.
