Hello WDF! I find this forum really friendly and I'd like some feedback on one of my latest designs, it's a website for a game server and I wanted the site to be different from all the other ones out there. Lots of other gaming sites look quite dark and have quite poor designs, so I decided to make this one nice and bright. I'm looking for good feedback that would improve the site, even the little things that could make this site better, also; tell me what you think, is it good? I'd really appreciate any feedback that you can give. First I'll post a screenshot of the homepage and I may add some shots of other pages later, thanks! The image in the center of the homepage is actually a slideshow.

I've got my pages header and footer sections in sepereate PHP files which are included in the top and bottom of each of my pages. If I want to add meta tags I could add them in with the header.php file but that would set the meta tags for all pages, how can I have seperate meta tags for each page? Many thanks, Charlie.

OK, so I've cloned your pipe and I put the channel in that I wanted, and for some reason instead of working awesomely like yours did it just displays 'Content for id "pump" Goes Here'. Hi WDF! Wow, I haven't been here in a while, but I have to say I love the new design of this place, it's nice! I'm currently creating a website for someone, and we need a way to have their latest YouTube video from their channel embedded on the website automatically. Now I'm not a developer, but could someone suggest and existing script or be kindly enough to create one for me? I've been looking all over the place and can't find one! Any help would be really appreciated, thanks!

I have a new site I'm creating for myself here but I just need a little help getting it all a bit more cross-browser compatible? Obviously its a work in progress but I wanna fix what I've done so far. Now the main issue is the 3d Ribbon, I don't mind if it doesnt work in other browsers just that it degrades a bit better. Heres what it looks like on Chrome for the Mac, which is perfect!

All sorted and resolved now, putting the feed through feedburner fixed the issue

Hey at http://ihearindie.com we have a social feed setup where it pulls in stuff from an RSS feed, we've made a feed with Yahoo Pipes which is http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=449c8ecaab36298bc951608fa0f9a31b&_render=rss but it doesn't work when we put it in using an app, I think it's because the rss file doesn't end in .rss or whatever, how can I make it an actual .rss? I used a twitter feed rss and it works fine but the feed we created doesnt. Any ideas?

On websites I create the folder structure is like this... index.php blog index.php contact index.php about index.php I usually use PHP includes for the footer and navigation on websites but I usually link the background images for things like http://site.com/images/bg.png so it works on all pages both homepages and pages in folders. Is there any other way of doing this without specifying the complete link? Because I'd like them to work when I'm working offline and online. Is there any kind of thing I can put at the beginning of the URL that would mean the ROOT of the server? Hope you understand me here. Thanks.

I am looking to display a social media feed on a new website I'm creating, it will pull in discussion about a topic (word) from Twitter and Facebook. But it needs to be moderated, so I will have to confirm feed items before they go live on the site. I'm thinking I could do it like this: Grab the Twitter RSS feed for the search results page of the topic. Grab the Facebook RSS feed for the search results page of the topic. Combine the RSS feeds together. Moderate the RSS feed by accepting/denying each update Display the moderated/combined RSS feed on the site in the form of a scroller. Could anybody point me in the right direction for this? I think I know how to combine an RSS feed and how to display it, but what services will allow me to accept/deny the updates? I would really appreciate your help on this! Thanks!!

Hi WDF, I've installed this Easy Slider 1.7 script on my website and customized it, for example I changed the size, arrow control images and the placement of them. Heres what it looks like on the site, and for the most part I'm happy with it. One thing though, I'd like the arrow controls to be hidden, and then only slow when you rollover them. I tried adding display:none; to the buttons, which made them dissapear. And I put display:block; on the hover link state, but when hovered they didn't appear? Could someone download the script and see how I can do this? Thanks! Charlie.
