  1. Yes, it's spam! I have got plenty of those the last days... I don't know if Akismet can stop it.. You can try and install it if you haven't done this yet!
  2. Arrh okay, sorry! If it's a standard shop build over an open source script with some kind of a payment module i would say about 2-4k.. But it's very hard to say. A webshop can easily cost 5k, 10k, 20k or even more. It depends on how much extra stuff the custommer needs. Let's say you charge 2k for the basic stuff. Then find out how much it will take you to do the extra stuff required, and then decide!
  3. Hi, I'm not quite sure that i fully understand your question. Do you mean the costs of having a e-commerce website? You don't need to pay for anything else than hosting (you don't even have to pay for that - i don't), because you can find almost everything you need for free. As your platform i reccommend using osCommerce, which is the biggest open source e-commerce software, and to proceed your payments i guess you can use Paypal.. I hope i answered your question!
  4. Nice plugin! Never heard of it.. Thanks for sharing!
  5. I'm not quite sure it's a cool thing to do with comments, but installing the top commentator plugin is a very good way to make people comment on your blog!
  6. Hi, Nice design! The only thing is that i don't think you should use the landscape image. I don't really think the blue and purple color goes together that well.. Just my opinion! - Peter
  7. I use Inkscape and i really think it's worth recommending! There are pros and cons about it. It doesn't have that many tools as Illustrator for example, but it's very easy to navigate. I love the fact that it is so easy to get started with. Newbies can really get nice results quickly. The problem is when you have to do too complicated stuff (i don't so..), but it works for the biggest part i think. So it really depends on which level you are at!

I'm not quite sure that you can use AOL as your mail server. I don't know AOL that well, so correct me if i'm wrong! Sam, nice tool! Never heard of it... - Peter
  9. Hey Rich Nice first time effort i must say! The first thing that i want to point out is that the Twitter logo was the first thing i noticed on your website. I don't think this is the intention. Instead i would recommend that you make yourself a more flashy top banner and replace the twitter logo with i smaller one. I don't know what you plan is with the frontpage, but why not place your CV (or at least the short version) there? Nobody wants to download a PDF file! But nice work mate! - Peter

If you have a smtp server, you don't need to setup a local mail server. You just need to add your e-mail settings to your PHP.ini file on your local server! [mail function] ; For Win32 only. ; SMTP = smtp.something.something It should look like this. Just remove the ";" before SMTP and specify your smtp server address. I hope this work (if you have a mail server elsewhere)!
  11. ^^ Haha, I've heard that before!
  12. Hi bocaj Thank you very much!
