Bit too heavily textured for me, but that's my curmudgeonly preference.

I like the layout, the fonts and the various hover effects but not the colour scheme/textures. All a bit to grey and gloomy, plus it makes the text hard to read.
 
Also, all the jQuery effects (sliding and dropping) stutter and lag which kind of ruins them =/

Theres quite a few bugs.
 
I'd go back to basics.

I agree with Spitfire, but aside from comments regarding the design, the implementation is very bad. You're making 363 individual http requests and the page is a huge 4.1mb!
 
It actually loads OK, but I don't know about anyone else but once loaded the page scrolls shuddery - possibly because it's so big in terms of filesize.
 
It also does this weird thing where the page first loads thumbnail sized then suddenly jumps into fullsize - not sure what's going on there.
 
It just generally has this sluggish, grey feel to it. This site should be leaving a positive, bright, vibrant impression, but it just looks dingy and grey, and the fact it's so big and slow to scroll and click around doesn't help.
 
Edit: Don't use iFrames! What if the sites go down, or get infected, or are changed? Just use thumbnails with links to the full site?

I like it, just dont like the fact that some text is on too-dark background - makes it hard too read, and makes me think, sloppy layout.

This fixed the issue. I don't have the fix up on the live site yet, but it did fix it!
 
 
After reading this I thought, why the hell not. I started working to make it responsive and it is almost done. I should have it updated in a day or so here with the responsive variant.

Could something be changed to just give it more room when it is hovered over?

Why don't you make the bird a black bird to avoid looking like Twitter, that way it will be more business like.
 
The small links at the top when you go to another page are horrible and don't work.
 
There are a few padding / alignment issues. The menu red focus text is bad. The images are quite boring and very stock. There is some grey text on grey backgound which is hard to see. But apart from that I like it

Center is the US spelling. Centre is UK. Nice site though. Some of your images are a bit too compressed. I also agree, drop down menus on hover.

Not a bad idea but poorly executed in my opinion.
 
If a portfolio / CV is not for getting you work then what is it for??!
 
Anyway...... I absolutely agree that the font is wrong. Also, there is too much empty / wasted space, it just looks unfinished.
 
I think your designs are realy good. i think it would pay for you to focus on graphics and team up with a web developer instead of trying to do everything. You obviously have talent........
 
Just a thought and no offence, as a developer my most profitable work is when i team up with a good designer. It is rare to find somebody who is good at both.

I do agree with the others though, not a very good use of font-face (Love the CSS options you have though!)
 
Grey version of you site is too 'noisey' though

For your contact section, and the section above it with the links, I don't agree with the hover effects. When you click on a text input for the contact form, you get some weird jump action. Same goes for the hover of the links.
 
I like the concept of it, and it is quite unique, and I like that, but I think there are quite a few places that you could make it look better. Some of these are: the background pattern, the text is hard to read, your buttons look a little outdated.
 
I like the idea though, keep it up!

God I hate flexible width websites that aren't thought out properly. Actually I just hate flexible width websites full stop.

Nice design, bit I think you need to change the size and if you will add scroller your website will be easy to view. I like your favicon.

On a serious note most modern monitors and laptops/notebooks have wide but shallow screens nowadays. When you add a couple of browser toolbars (not uncommon) the amount of visible vertical space can be "not a lot". I'm currently running at 1360x768 with a couple of toolbars visible in my browser and the nav links on your site are out of view without scrolling. Ok I know where to look but most internet users aren't that savvy so it could work against you.
 
With your content text, write for human being not search engines. Google and others will find the text without any problem (unless you do something stupid:)). You could also bump up the text size as well if there's not much of it, that will help fill things out a bit as well as making it more readable for people using larger resolutions. Browser default (16px) is fine nowadays and you could also try using a different font to make things sparkle a bit more?

I think you will need to add a class or id to the <ul> after the newsletterdiv and add ie7 styles to it. Maybe font-size:0px? It is that ul pushing the footer below the line.

One thing I would suggest is try to lay off the CSS3 for a major part of the site. If I am right, you are using a lot of reflections & shadows. I really like what you have done, but you have overloaded the screen with shadows, reflections and font effects from my point of view. You have to remember that browsers render the page an the viewers machine, so if someone with a slow machine & slow connection start to load your site, they are gonna leave before it is loaded, & if the page jumps it will have the same effect.
 
I hate being negative, but the problem about looking pretty is that if someone is looking at your site to purchase or do business with you there is a chance they could be put off by the site. I've seen this so many times.
 
CSS3 has still not been rolled out 100% & always remember that every browser implements web standards differently. The only one that does it to the specification is Opera, the others including ie8+, Safari & Firefox do it to how they think. As good as they are they still don't follow the specification.
 
So, keep the CSS3 in there but try to minimise the text effects, gradient effects, shadows & reflections. Be subtle with them to make an impact, detail is the key.

well it loads almost instantly in FF 3.6. Try easing uop on the size of the shadows, and take it off unecessary items that have it atm. The only thing that is alggy for me is hovering over funky elements, such as you form button, links at the bottom etc.

can't you just add: *margin-top:-45px to the .fp class?

My first thought was "Awesome! Love the clouds, robot, icons and simplicity".
 
Then I scrolled down a bit and thought "AAAAAAAARGH! MY EYES! IT BURNS!". Maybe tone down the saturation on the neon grass?
