  1. it's run by neilOwen on here. Haven't seen him around for a while though and his profile says he hasn't been on the site since march.
  2. I'm an expat in AKL. I'm originally form just outside London, been here 2 years now. You in AKL?
  3. Cheers for the feedback Oliver. All very good points and all have been implemented. The red on grey from the navigation was a left over form the previously light nav. I've also fixed the tcc link, was a spelling mistake
  4. Hi Sash, yes it has been a while. I've been floating in and out but haven't posted in a while. Cheers for the feedback guys, i've added some of your suggestions (more contrast) but will leave the text alone for now. It's currently under review with a copywriter so will see how it turns out before making any changes. As for the logo, it was supposed to be showing Harabara, but it seems, at some point I removed the @font-face part of the stylesheet without realising. Doh! Hopefully it looks a bit better now.
  5. Hi all, It's been quite a while since my site has had a proper redesign. I'm keen to hear your feedback on the new design. The site should be responsive, although at this stage I'm not too happy with the nav on very small screens. That is one area I am still trying to decide on the best approach for, so if you have any ideas I'd be be very happy to hear them. http://goo.gl/6zHk6 TIA Darren
  6. Congrats Mike. All the best
  7. I don't personally, but I do tell all clients to make at least one. That way they can be sure everything works properly.
  8. cheers webdesigner93, file_get_contents and file_put_contents did the trick, just had to change some file permissions.
  9. Bluedreamer : no it doesn't unfortunately. Elit: cheers for that, will give it a bash in a bit.
  10. Hi guys, Just had a request from a client. They have 2 sites, one uses wordpress, the other uses an ecommerce system. They want to be able to make small css and file changes through the admin panel of the ecommerce system the same way they do with wordpress. Does anybody know how this could be acheived? They already have ftp but would prefer to be part of the system itself. Ecommerce system is in php. I can give them read/write access to the files. Cheers
  11. 16.0 was recalled, 16.0.1 is the patch they released
  12. I've only had a quick look but your code is a bit off. There are lots of empty h tags and p tags. I'd suggest tidying those up first and then check that you have the correct ids assigned to the relevant p tags. Once you've done this, let us know. it'll make it easier to debug the problem.
  13. Here's mine. Thought i'd throw this one in aswell. Here's the view from my desk
  14. Have to agree with notbansky. I used to try to have a set 8-4 routine but decided against that after a while. I generally still start at 8, but some days I don't get up till 10. Other days it'll be nice out so I'll spend the day at the range shooting or out on the boat and then work in the evening. It's much better this way as it allows me time to relax when I need to. Whilst work is importamnt and you need to have some discipline, it is also important to realise that you need time to relax. I have deadlines that I set for things and so as long as I am keeping up with those, i'm happy.
  15. Stop the flashing in the header. Not only is it distracting, how do you expect people to write down your phone number?? As has already been stated, looks ok, but there are areas that need some tweaking. This text Doesn't fit inside its box properly and so is extending just past the bottom of the background.
  16. Having had a read of the original post, I think you'll find copyright will belong to them. It appears you have been taken on as an employee (they pay your tax, ni. and you work for them for a wage) In this case everything you create whilst working for them belongs to them. The law regarding Intellectual Property rights "In the case of a written, theatrical, musical or artistic work, the author or creator of the work is also the first owner of any copyright in it. The only exception to this is where the work is made by an employee in the course of his or her employment. Where a written, theatrical, musical or artistic work, or a film, is made by an employee in the course of his employment, his employer is the first owner of any copyright in the work (subject to any agreement to the contrary). In the course of employment is not defined by the Act but in settling disputes the courts have typically had to decide whether the employee was working under 'contract of service'. Where a person works under a 'contract for services' he may be considered by the courts to be an independent contractor and his works may then be considered to be commissioned works. An employer should keep careful records of which person(s) created the work for them which they own. The period of copyright protection may still be linked to the date of the death of the creator(s) - that is the employee(s)."
  17. Hi, I have an old payment gateway from an old system that is no longer supported. I need to update it, but unfortunately it was encoded. at the very least it has base64 encoding, although there is probably more. Does anybody know how i can decode them or is anybody able to do so if I send them the files? Cheers
  18. I'm Latvian apparently.
  19. The twitter app is side by side with the main page. Are you actually trying to get the twitter app to align with the bottom content boxes? If so, you can do one of 2 things: first, add margin-top: 245px; to #wrap #twitter, Or move the following <div id="twtr-widget-1" class="twtr-widget twtr-widget-profile"><div style="width: 150px;" class="twtr-doc"> <div class="twtr-hd"><a class="twtr-profile-img-anchor" href="https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=kproductionsweb" target="_blank"><img src="http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/2245913068/K-LOGO3_normal.jpg" class="twtr-profile-img" alt="profile"></a> <h3>K P Web Design</h3> <h4><a href="https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=kproductionsweb" target="_blank">kproductionsweb</a></h4> </div> <div class="twtr-bd"> <div style="height: auto;" class="twtr-timeline"> <div class="twtr-tweets"> <div class="twtr-reference-tweet"></div><div id="tweet-id-2" class="twtr-tweet"><div class="twtr-tweet-wrap"> <div class="twtr-avatar"> <div class="twtr-img"><a href="https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=kproductionsweb" target="_blank"><img src="http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/2245913068/K-LOGO3_normal.jpg" alt="kproductionsweb profile"></a></div> </div> <div class="twtr-tweet-text"> <p> <a class="twtr-user" href="https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=kproductionsweb" target="_blank">kproductionsweb</a> Get an extra web page free when you choose one of our website design packages. just quote "twitter" <a rel="nofollow" urlentities="[object Object]" target="_blank" href="http://t.co/Pu1od9E0">kproductionswebdesign.co.uk/packages.html</a> <em> <a href="https://twitter.com/kproductionsweb/status/207141037712474112" time="Mon May 28 16:07:26 +0000 2012" class="twtr-timestamp" target="_blank">2 days ago</a> · <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?in_reply_to=207141037712474112" class="twtr-reply" target="_blank">reply</a> · <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/retweet?tweet_id=207141037712474112" class="twtr-rt" target="_blank">retweet</a> · <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/favorite?tweet_id=207141037712474112" class="twtr-fav" target="_blank">favorite</a> </em> </p> </div> </div></div><div id="tweet-id-1" class="twtr-tweet"><div class="twtr-tweet-wrap"> <div class="twtr-avatar"> <div class="twtr-img"><a href="https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=kproductionsweb" target="_blank"><img src="http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/2245913068/K-LOGO3_normal.jpg" alt="kproductionsweb profile"></a></div> </div> <div class="twtr-tweet-text"> <p> <a class="twtr-user" href="https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=kproductionsweb" target="_blank">kproductionsweb</a> Professional websites in Glasgow.
