  1. Congratulations on the successful host change.
  2. I eventually found the solution. On the website, instead of using utf-8 encoding, I changed it to iso-8859-1. And, there was no need to strip HTML tags, because the app was just for a client, so unless they wanted to mess up their own site, I doubt they would input malicious code.
  3. Bump (I still can't find a solution).
  4. Thanks, that works great, but can I make it not include characters like: <,>,",'?
  5. Instead of using a txt file, it is easier and quicker to use a SQL database. I have wrote my own PHP - SQL content management, and that didn't take long.
  6. I have just tried it, but when I use it, it also converts all HTML characters in the string (probably should have mentioned that) and it displays the HTML, like <div>.
  7. If I understand the problem correctly, add: <div style="clear:both;"></div> </div> </div> under the floated divs.
  8. I have made a simple CMS for someone, but I have discovered a problem. When I put a £ symbol in the input box and submit it, Firefox (haven't checked IE) puts a ? symbol instead of the £. I tried using str_replace(), but that didn't seem to work. Here is what I have: $page = $_GET['page']; $contents = $_POST['contents']; $complete = str_replace('£','£',$contents); $result = mysql_query("UPDATE cic SET contents='$complete' WHERE pageID=$page"); header( 'Location: /cic/index.php' ) ; PS: I have connected to MySQL database, but I didn't post that bit (works fine anyway).
  9. I don't really like the contast between the content and the footer, but apart from that, it looks really nice.
  10. What about: float: right; margin-right: ??px;
  11. Norwich. Thanks for other comments. I am currently trying to re-design the site.
  12. Teen Design replied to runquest's topic in Frontend
    I would probably switch that to the XHTML doctype: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
  13. Thank you very much for all your comments. I really do appreciate it. Please don't treat me different, because I am only a teenager, I want all the normal amount of criticism that anyone else would get. I don't think that age is an issue with design. I may be re-branding myself soon, so I don't draw so much attention to the fact that I am younger. Stay tuned for some beta designs soon. Thanks again.
  14. It looks very nice. A great mixture between colour and white space.
  15. Thanks again for all the comments, I really appreciate them. I should be revising some parts of the site, thanks to your comments
  16. Thanks for the comments. I will try and change some things. I was only 10 when I started coding ^^
  17. You could send the username in the URL and then use the $_GET method on the other page to find out what the username is.
  18. I have quite recently started up my own portfolio site to expand my part time web designing (when I am not in school). I would like some comments and critique about my site at: http://www.teendesign.co.uk
