Can someone please tell me how to do this...I need to make the link on the page a different color compared to the footer. The reason is that the footer has white type on a dark blue and the page background is white so I want a dark type on that page. How do I make the changes on this code for this page? I decided to only use 3 colors...link, hover and visited (I haven’t removed active color yet). With the link being the brightest color on the dark blue and on the white background, I want the type to be the darkest for the link color Here is the htm page code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1…

I need some advice on how to create a pop up window after someone logs in. This is a subscription site and so the pop up window should occur to read: your subsciption has expired - with some additional text added to the paragraph. Can anyone help me on this? Do I link this pop up window to the login page I am using? How would I do that?

I know this can be done - I just don't know how. Can anyone tell me the code you use to make a graphic hover effect. Like having a red button change to a yellow button when you roll over it?

Hi all! Though I've been desiging for a while, I have ZERO experience with CSS but am dying to learn all about it. Any links, thoughts, tutuorials would be appreciated. Thank you!

  6. Started by 4silverstrea,

I am working on a job that doesn’t really require columns. On the front page, I got away with using tables. I am also using a third party (Project 7) menu for the top. For login pages which only has minimal information, I also used a table and the table is outlined (and it’s centred). I don’t really see any reason why I should use columns for the design when tables will suffice since this is a pictorial site mainly...any comments on this? I am fairly new at CSS and find the informative links provided on this website to be extremely helpful! So thank you all..

I just started to learn CSS now because table design is down graded now, I don't know the exact reason though, maybe because search engines like CSS or because of its easy management and customization. I'm looking for good CSS resources to build my CSS knowledge, Any advice?

For one of my websites, I want a map of the United States where every state is a link to that state's page. HOW on earth do I go about doing that? Or is there somewhere I can just copy the picture and code from?

  10. I'm building a site that's an online version of a current art exhibition and I'm having problem sorting out some of my navigation. I've followed this tutorial on the 'A List Apart' site: CSS Sprites: Image Slicing’s Kiss of Death A link to my test page is here: Test Page Link [it's not been tested on all browsers yet, so best to view it on a PC in Firefox if possible] When you roll over the small polaroids you'll get the gist of my problem. Only part of the hover images are being displayed. The first artist hover works OK but the rest don't. Each hover is meant to darken all the polaroids apart from the selected one and display the artists name. Does anyone …
