Website speed

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am really struggling with website speed, I know I will be told it is because I am using Page builders, such as elementor, but so are millions of other websites.

The website in question is https://d53media.com

It has the latest version of Wordpress and Elementor and is using a theme called Phlox.

It has the following plugins to help increase things, Smush and Breeze.

The speed is terrible.

I also run a test on https://batchspeed.com/ and it could only find one page?????

Can anyone assist me with some constructive criticism please?

Regards

Dave

Check the attached file.

8.3 seconds for TTFB for the main document. Then you have tons of css files that seem to get generated by the Breeze plugin. 1.1s for a 55kb file and 1 s for a 9kb file is way too long.

Did you install the breeze plugin in the hope it would fix your speed or did you install it out of habbitt? I think you have a number of issues here and using Breeze and a page builder doesn't help here.

maybe worth using some sort of wordpress debug tool that shows you how many queries the site runs and the time of those queries. Could be that some indexes in your database got messed up which does slow down queries quite a bit.

Hi Stephan,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is TTFB?

Yes I did install Breeze out of habbitt as I have tried other Caching plugins and get problems no matter which one I use.

Dave

Time To First Byte

Your problems are the theme and elementor.  If you want a fast site don’t use elementor.

And you are sharing a server with 1500 other sites in the USA.

If you are relying on breeze for speed you are already failing. Looking at your code you have so much junk installed.

If you need any plugins at all to manage layout you are doing it wrong. with the right theme and wordpress blocks you can do all sorts of clver things.

Also worth nothing that the site just doesn't work well on a phone. And there are all sorts of CSS issues.

Don't use Elementor. In fact don't use any page builder.

Learn how to use blocks and add your own CSS classes.

Probably because breeze has created all the cached files and the site is still using them. Or the server is caching the site.

Install breeze and clear all minification, optimisation and cache then uninstall.

The site however will still be slow until you get rid of elementor
