How to use Google Analytics to improve the SEO of your site

Featured Replies

Hey guys! Can you share some real life examples of how you've used Google Analytics to improve the rankings of your site in search engines? There are a lot of theoretical guides on this topic but so far I have a hard time understanding how to use it in a real life scenario so if someone can share the experience they had with Google Analytics and SEO improvement, that would be a real help for me, thanks in advance!

@AndreP - Google Analytics won't help your SEO. It will identify which pages people land on following a search but it's not going to offer tips on how to improve your ranking.

The Google Search Console is a much better tool of you want to work on your SEO: https://search.google.com/search-console/about

@fisicx I see, Thanks for reminding me about Google Search Console. I have created a property there for my website and also imported it in Google Analytics to see which keywords is generating most conversions.

But what about page load time? Is Google Analytics a reliable tool to use to find and improve the page load time as I have heard that this is an important factor for SEO.

I think with Google Analytics we can get an Idea that from which source we are getting huge traffic, so that we can focus to promote more our website on that source.

Why?

Surely you should be focusing on those parts of the site that don't get a lot of traffic.

Also note that huge traffic doesn't always mean lots of conversions. I've got one page on a site that gets loads of traffic from people looking for information. These people rarely convert because they now have the answer they were seeking.

  3. what the type of your visitor ( organics, referral, direct, or paid traffics)
  4. demographics information for your visitor come
  5. and many more analytics data

Based the data, you can know more what must be do to driving more traffics to your site.

SEO Rankings with Google analytics can be increased indirectly. You need to analyze your traffic. See from which country you’re getting most traffic and write a blog targeting that country.

Now don’t forget to put up link to the blog on the page which gets highest no.of traffic from that particular country.

However, i would highly recommend you try this Android App Search Console - Apps on Google Play.

It submits your we website to google which you can later verify the ownership and track the important keywords for which you site is ranking and get more traffic from Google.
