I think, instead of those HTMl table like borders, can you make them rounded corners?

Woulkd be awesome then, but now its pretty cool. I like. :friends:

Yay of course :p, as I said on msn, I like the way the layout turned out to be.

Thinking about creating something a little lighter and more professional though.

First of all y so many navigation boxes???

i think there are way to many boxes overall. and its rather dull. i get the impression that its like a computer business style site. if anybody gets me.

not very portfolio like.

I'm guessing/knowing, all the navigation boxes are just a filler item, nothing serious, and it's not a portfolio site, it's a portfolio-REVIEW site, it reviews portfolios.

Well still its doesn't seem very aesthetically pleasing. people's portfolios are all different colours and styles. this seems to dull to me.

Depending on what page is being looked at etc the boxes change, but im creating something a bit more colourful now

I like the idea and the gradients are nice. From experience, as you'll be using different people's portfolios which will contain all sorts of colours etc, it's good to go with a very neutral/white website that won't clash with the imagery from the portfolios being reviewed. Have you got any white style designs? It's just my opinion, if you want to go darker then of course it's entirely up to you but I have found that using clean background colours tends to draw the eye more towards the content. Just a thought.

:)

I second that ^, Ben. While I don't have a problem with your colour scheme, for what you're describing white/white-ish sounds best.

I'm picturing a brown/army green site showcased within yours and unfortunately it's not pretty. :shok:

Also, it bugs me a bit that your nav menus stretch further width-wise than your header. I think it should all line up down the outside (if that makes sense).

Thanks for the input guys, Given me some sick ideas about where to take my site and how to make it look, I'll tend towards more neutral colours and I think a much simpler layout, without maybe only two columns, none boxy and a nice header.

Thanks for the help guys n' gals :)
