Merging ideas from 2 websites

Featured Replies

Hi (newbie alert lol)

I have several websites for my Hotel but want to make them far simpler and user friendly.

One site http://www.hinkleyhotel.com is basic, to the point and seems to work well across pc, tablet and phones

However, I think the slider is pretty boring.

I was working on an alternative website and really like the slider on that one http://www.royalclarencehotel.com/

I would like to use that slider - and the text effects - in http://www.hinkleyhotel.com

Is it just a case of copying the JS and code across or is it more detailed than that ?

Help appreciated and welcomed.

Thank You for your post.

I have no idea what I should be removing (code wise - css/js etc) from the existing website or where to post the code for the slider.

TBH Im really unsure of wordpress so I tend to get a template and then alter the html or swop images to get what I want.

You should definitely move to Wordpress and use a layout editor such as Site Origin offers. Will make your life a lot easier moving forward. If you need any help, just get in touch.

no, do not use a site editor. All they do is add more code. It's far better to start with a simple theme and build it up.

@Somerset-UK. You will find if far easier to manage you site(s) if you use a CMS like Wordpress. There are many others you can choose, Craft is a popular choice among members here. If you want a free theme that is perfect for your hotel let me know as I have one I developed for a hotel that they never took delivery of.
