August 21, 201411 yr Hi guys, I need some of your experience to help me answer a question i have, here goes...... I have looked at lots of hosting packages from the big names and smaller companies, but still unsure about websites and domains. If i have 20GB monthly bandwidth, on a plan that allows 3 sites, but only plan to host just 1 small site. Can i host a total of more than 3 domains, as i have registered around 10 in total. I would like to have a single landing page for each of the domains and just 1 actual website ? I am very confused with all this as you may be able to tell ! I'm quite new to the whole webmaster thing........ thanks for any help, Keith.
August 21, 201411 yr Firstly, that is really bad practice. You should have one domain for one website. No more. If you go down the 'best practice' route - redirect 9 of the domains to a single primary one - then yes, you should be able to do that via your domain registrar and you will be using only 1 domain/website on your hosting package.
August 21, 201411 yr Author Hi, thanks for reply and sorry for the confusion. The additional domains are not related to site and i do not want them to point or redirect, just sit there until i develop or sell them. keith.
September 4, 201411 yr It will be down to the webhost to restrict how many domains can be hosted on a single account. Some will allow multiple domain names but others will only allow one. You could always redirect the domain names using free website forwarding services to a sub-folder on the main domain until you develop a new website for them.
September 4, 201411 yr If you can have 3 addon domains you can host 3 extra sites, but I would rather get a reseller and have an account for each site - This is much better for you in the future and more organized.
October 26, 201411 yr If they do not allow to host additional domain/addons domain then you can host your website on free web hosting for a temproary time(until you develop your website). If you just want to host your website for temproary time then create a sub domain and start developing your webiste on subdomain.
December 2, 201411 yr I want to know that the 3 domains are related to same website like If I type any url the website should be same. Then my suggest is if you can host for the main url which you have to use for your business and then just you login into domain name account and just add forward those domains to the main domain url.
February 4, 201511 yr You are best off asking this question to your web host. It very much depends on the host's pricing and package offering.

I don't see how this is bad practice, It's very common for websites to use multiple domains for language changes or to offer different services to other countrys, HOWEVER it could be bad practice if he setup the same service on every domain name

Some older websites used the sub-domain format, but to build overall SEO value to a website, you should use sub-folders.
