for those tho dont no u get a html file and u edit it with css and images to make a visually pleasing site.

I've always wanted to submit a design to CSS Zen Garden and have added the task of 'things to definitely do this year'...so fingers crossed I get round to it. Make sure you post a link to yours when it's done!

No. The 18th of April is the renewal day for the domain, as can be seen by the whois data:

 

Creation Date: 18-Apr-2003

Expiration Date: 18-Apr-2010

 

So maybe it "expired" yesterday (18th April '07) and he (Dave, from mezzoblue who owns the CSS Zen Garden domain) just needed to renew it again, but thats just a guess.

The Zen Garden site is what made me want to learn CSS. It's a great site, a great concept and a fabulous showcase for the amazing things that can be done with pure CSS.

 

The book is a good read and sits on my book shelf in a prominent position under "Inspiration".

Snap! Same for me. I thought "OMW not another coding language " when I first came across CSS a few years back and then saw Zen CSS few months ago and I actually started learning CSS as a result. Very cool designs.
