I have a new venture that I feel, for the first time years, might be suited to UK directories i.e. Pinbud, Scoot etc.

 

In other members experience do online directories actually carry any wait in this current age of Google monopolization, whether as a means of people finding your company or indeed to aid in SEO and link building?

Well only a few of the online directories which has good pagerank will help in link building while others are not effective.Online directories are not very effective as they used to be in the previous years.

There are different types of online directories. Most of them are just link farms that won't add any value to ypur site if not even make your linkback profile look spammy.

But at the same time, there are a few really good directories like DMOZ and Yahoo as well as business lstings like hotfrog and europages.

Yes quality and high PR directories are still useful for SEO purposes Like Dmoz, dirdotyahoo.com.

business directory still useful, just make sure the directory is not the major strategy of the seo. a few directories will be helpful for ranking.
