April 4, 201412 yr HiWe have been working on our new portfolio site recently and would like to get a bit of feedback. Just as a note this is by no means a finished project, more of an ever evolving project or at least that is the plan: http://www.reflex-studios.com/There are a lot of elements I am still not happy with and particular pages/sections which I feel need a lot of work but I am curious to see what the general feedback is.Thanks in advanceMichael
April 4, 201412 yr Overall it looks pretty good, it does look slightly similar to the sidgital site in places though. Maybe because I've seen that site a lot. There are a few things I'd look into: The grey / pink header images look inconsistent, I'd probably just stick to one colour and have a matching colour for the arrows. The logo seems to have a problem adjusting when you first scroll down. It's really pixalated at first. I'd consider keeping the header background a solid colour, I'm not a fan of the way it goes from white, to grey (because of the header image), then white again. The body text in places is too small for a such a light font weight. The blue glow under the tab content seems a little out of place.
April 4, 201412 yr On my laptop the pages don't flow right, slide height needs looking at. For instance at the bottom of every page you have the area with a pink background and 3 links. All three links are half way behind the title bar before the previous section has scrolled fully out of the way. Plus as Jack said header colour inconsistencies like that don't really work, and the font size in a couple of places is to small. In addition I am on a slow connection and the page load time was very bad, I gave up after 3 pages. Try using a bit more compression or more CDN to speed things up.
April 6, 201412 yr very poorly optimised: 5mb for front page?? it's embarrassing when web design people don't know about web design basics i.e. not using the correct image format (pngs instead of jpegs, png-24 instead of png- and it translates into a poor user experience (i'm on a fast connection and images take too long to load) try https://tinypng.com/ you could use more svg - particulalry for the logo typo on portfolio page "itself" and some grammatical looseness in general 'in house' should be hyphenated; 'out source' is one word; 'Our Content Management System' small 'o' there, unless you're the queen or some sort of gestalt deity Michael Mallon's photo has a bad cast shadow on it otherwise, it's clean and friendly.
April 6, 201412 yr Is this suppose to be responsive? If so, a bunch of the page gets cut off on my tablet. Also the drop shadow on the arrow gets cut off. I can do a more in depth review later, but those were the things I noticed right off. Also no mobile menu but I figured that was one of the unfinished areas. The header logo I'd also slow to transition between the sizes. Felt weird.
April 7, 201412 yr Author Cheers for the feedback. we hope to address some of the issues in the next week or so just finding it hard to get the time between client work. The responsive side of things still needs a lot of work :s We shold have resized the images and will be, again another oversight rushing to get the site up and live. I will repot back when I get a chance thanks again for taking the time to have a look and reply
