Evening all,

 

I have a PHP site (Code Igniter) which is fairly basic, but still contains quite a bit of bespoke code (user registration, admin section - user, item and service management) all querying a backend DB.

 

I would like to convert this to WP for the added functionality of blogging. I assume this is possible for someone with the right skills, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me how difficult this would be, and how many hours I should expect it to take?

 

Unfortunately the current site isn't available to the www yet, so I know this is very much a shot in the dark question!!

Have you tried looking at Pyro CMS ? Its a CMS thats written in the code igniter framework. Im not sure about the learning curve though.

Why not just add blogging to the site you have? sounds like it does everything you want it too...

I agree with Ste Hughes. If blogging is all you need from Wordpress why not simply contain Wordpress in the blog directory (e.g. www.example.com/blog) and build a custom template styled like the rest of the site?

Hi i m agree with privileged it's best way, in-spite of if you want to convert it to wp then i can help you.

Wordpress is basically for blogging and small business, less CMS. If your site is limited to 8-9 pages than wordpress is better enough.
