December 11, 201213 yr Hi New boy here. Having recently completed an online Dreamweaver CS4 ACA course (in between working and family commitments), I now have the skills to create a Web Standards static website. Here’s the catch:- My clients are asking for dynamic websites, cms etc. Can anybody tell me where is the best place to start. Wordpress, php, databased driven websites, are terms which are popping up. Hmm could this be a whole new course, or is this something I could read and learn. I am not a hand coder either so your honesty would be greatly appreciated.
December 11, 201213 yr well generally speaking wordpress is the big player in the CMS front and is a great piece of software, that is only enhanced if you know its inside out.
December 15, 201213 yr Set up a development server on your local machine (http://www.wampserver.com/en/) is a great place to start. Simply download and install. Then install a copy of Wordpress and have a play.
December 18, 201213 yr I'd also recommend Wordpress. It's open software, it's easy to learn if you have front-end skills and it has massive community, if not the biggest CMS community. P.s. I'm wondering thet "ACA" in the course name stands for?
