Why are you using divs like table cells? the whole point of using css is so that you don't have to make tables...

it was purely because the whole of the main content is an image. it was just a quick job, let photshop do the background css......i knw....big mistake

to be honest i'm not a big fan of the whole desk theme for a freelance website. because all the rotated object you have little room left for content. Maybe you can rotate things a bit less :p.

One thing that i noticed on your website is the fact that the homepage doesn't have any real content.

I think the type on your banner needs more spacing - and the t looks wierd

Also , the overlay text is conflicting with your backdrop image - not great.

The image takes far too long to load - try and compress it a bit more, or change your concept to facilitate faster loading.

Thank you very much for your feedback, much appreciated, ig to a bit bored last night and just knocked it up in a few hours, so i know it needs alot of tweaking.

the code is a mess, you could do it more simple.

indeed the logo needs more letter spacing and must not be over the header image like that. it must stand out somehow

I like the left side navigation it's neat.

I agree that the desktop theme isn't that great for this kind of site. I also wonder about the wisdom of putting a portfolio online before there's anything to go in it. A portfolio should be your biggest selling point - if it's empty, folks will wonder why.

I agree with all the comments so far. I quite like the idea of the mobile phone showing your contact details, but I think the execution could be improved. I understand why your main elements have been rotated, but I think this makes the page very hard to look at, and some of the text on the lined paper is making your overlaid content a bit hard on the eyes too.

You could add quite a lot more value to this site IMO by having some content on the home page. Some details about the services you offer, what inspires you, what your background is - maybe just have your about page as the index page.

It would be interesting to see how this site develops.

I really don't understand your code at all...

Your site could have been coded using about 3 <divs>... You have more than 50 - was it a table layout export from photoshop that you have recoded to be styled by css? If so, can I recommend <body> - this element contains the background image in one file.

<nav> this element contains your nav listings.

<content> speaks for itself

<footer> your copyright & nav links

That was what I thought too - but they're just part of the image eh?

I'm a content man and there's not much here for me to get my teeth into!

A few very quick observations though:

 

Over my slower wireless connection the page develops in nasty, jumpy blocks.

The text in the little box that fades into existence is very hard to read, especially with the handwriting on the background image.

You have 'contact us' and refer to 'we' in the copy, but explain that Push it Media is a 1-man operation!

 

It's an OK design, but slimboyfatz winning website this month really shows how to handle this kind of look to perfection.

 

Sorry if that's harsh - it's really just meant to be helpful. If you're going to compete as a web designer I reckon you'll need a stronger/unique/standards-compliant design.
