WP Invoicing or similar?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

We currently run a bit of an antiquated invoicing system, legacy software that's an oversight... you know how it is, the excitement of gaining business and servicing clients is much more thrilling than fiddling with back office tools.

Ya' know, the tools that actually keep the business afloat and running smoothly. *cough*

With that in mind we've had a couple of freelancers send us invoices via an intermediary, I really like them because both options gave the PDF or print feature and were well presented. In essence you click the link in the email and you're whisked away to a web-page that doubles as an invoice.

However, we'd much prefer to host and brand our own invoices from our own platform.

Does anyone know of an web based application or Wordpress plugin or similar that allows us to add recurring billing, templated invoices and emailing of said invoices to clients? The addition of the client being able to view and save the invoice from our website would be nice as per the above.

We're not too concerned about taking payments, we're more than happy with free bank transfers.

Pancake App has been a life saver for me in this respect.

It's 100% customisable and it's a one off fee rather than monthly.

Here's my affiliate link http://pancakeapp.com/ref/5I7g0dpu

Totally worth trying!

Cheers Mike, looks like it has what we need and it's self hosted too.

Been meaning to try this myself actually...may make use of the link ;)

Just had a read through and play with the demo, $49 seems exceptional value for money!

I particularly like the fact it's self-hosted and css skinnable, not just templates.

We'll probably sign-up so will use the ref' link too.

From an accounting perspective I think I've found a few issues with Pancake and to be honest for the price it's pretty feature packed.

However how do you deal with expenses and staffing costs, I can't see it caters for that and so for our accountant we'd need another tool.

With that in mind has any one used http://www.xero.com/ - it appears to be more accounting focused whilst retaining the features I like in Pancake?

edit: it also links with the company bank account which is a really nice feature.
