CSS not loading

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have noticed on some websites that occasionally the CSS does not load (see attached pic) but then after page refresh it loads properly. Can anyone please suggest why / how this happens?

Thanks

Weird, do you have a link to your website ?

Well the screenshot above is not my website but this is the link. I have noticed this on a few different websites - not very often maybe less than 1% of page loads.

Does this happen on all your installed browsers or just one.

Well my main browser is Chrome so I can only say for sure it happens in Chrome (the above screenshot is Toshiba laptop / Chrome). I will watch out for it happening in firefox / IE in future.

I'm thinking a corruption issue.

Corruption of what?

Thanks

I get the same thing.... however I find it occurs in all browsers....

I've done checks to see if this is only happening on my PC... but ran a few tests and it happens on the following builds:

Freshly Built Windows 7 PC .... happens on Chrome, Firefox and IE ...

Old Linux PC ( Running Mint) ... happens on Chrome only

Asus Laptop running Windows 7 ... happens on Firefox and IE.

At first i thought it was an update file from windows, but it happens on a Linux machine too!

One other thing I thought could be the issue was my internet provider... and caching perhaps??

I'm with Virgin media ( not tried my other 2 ISPs yet as they are backup providers so not setup )

Hi, seems that you rarely get the styling with the w3c validator for some weeks now. Suggests to me that the problem is with their server not meeting the request. Jim

I doubt it's anything to do with servers, it's more likely to be a client side issue. You could use dev tools in chrome and see if any resource is being loaded.

Also, remove all extensions and plugins, you may have a rogue extension causing a conflict.

Try re-installing the browser also and definitely try in others.
