Hi every one

 

impretty new here but could really do with some feedback on my web site http://www.anim8stopmotion.com/

 

Its a web site developed as part of a university assignment i am undertaking for my final year.

 

I still have to replace the main image on the home page and convert it to HTML/CSS and an image or animation. but apart from that i think im more aless finished. I launched it Monday past as i have been running out of time.

 

So far it has done pretty well for the first week with about 1000 unique views but i would love to hear what every body thinks of the design / layout.

 

sugestions and feedback welcome.

I think this is a nice clean design. If I had to criticise it, I'd say it's similar to quite a lot of other sites and it doesn't really stand out... Easy to use and read though, so can't criticise too much.

Your code has 146 errors according to W3C

so you may want to look at fixing those.

Other than that, can't really say much - it's a nice site.

I really like the first impression this website gives, and I loved the idea straight away.

 

The use of the white board is really great, maybe on hover it should turn green and link to a page telling you what stop motion animation is, and how to get started?

 

Either way, It's a nice clean usable design, well done to you

I had created a few animations to go in place of the white board but they all came out to large in flash so might play around with a few more images see what i get.

i would go through the errors because right now the page looks great in FF but is broken in IE6.

 

great job on the colors, and I love that you have a tutorial section.

I know about IE6 but at the minute i have so much work to do i have decided to come back to it in a week or so. It works in all other browsers except IE6 and lower to the best of my knowledge, and works fine in IE7. The tutorial section could do with a few more videos at the minute. might try make one tonight if i get a chance.

very nice site. do be aware that many companies still use ie6 and many people as i'm sure you know surf from work, just don't forget to get this working, it's often a good idea to design in ffox and ie6 to avoid problems later. usually a site working in both of these is good to go.

 

personally i wouldn't worry about anything below ie6.

Yeh I know, had to explain this to my dad the other day because where they work they still use ie6.

 

My lecturers are grading in ff but I will be fixing the ie6 problem pretty soon because i want the web site to be useful to people in the stop motion community and as IE6 is still so widely used I will have to fix this.

 

Im really pleased people generally like the site having worked on it for so long.

website logo is very good.

Clean website. Has a typical layout and the use of the usual gradients / round corners gives it a bit of a template look. You could try adding some unique features that you don't see in a template. Other than that top notch website.

barsa, I have noticed this at times I think it all depends on how many people are online and a few other factors, there are times that it is realy fast, thanks for pointing it out though. and thanks for the feedback.

 

Greetz R-J - I can see where you are coming from and espically with the main content of the web site being stop motion I could have pushed the boat out alot more, at the same time I wanted it to be easy for users to relate to and feel comfortable with (not much of an excuse I know). I hope to get a good user base going and then try something more retro, this is what I have in mind. Although I will let the users of the web site choose how it progress. cheers.
