June 21, 201214 yr Hello People I have been for the past week trying to think of a page or content that would be suitable to show users as soon as they login. What im trying to do is to make a page (like a landing page) for users to see straight after they login. If someone could give me ideas to what I could show or put on this page to the users when they login on this page it would be great. My website is related to surveys and free items, users basically sign up complete some surveys and in return get free items. And please I cannot show you my website or give you the link or anything because it is secret right now and under development. Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks.
June 21, 201214 yr You're doing it wrong. You shouldn't be planning that you want a page if you don't already have something to put in it. Content dictates design and functionality. It's a bit like buying an aerial when you don't have TV.
June 21, 201214 yr Author Makes sense, but there must be a page or else my users will be taken to the edit account settings page, which isn't convenient at all. I know everyone will be here saying why don't you change were they are taken instead of them being taken to the edit account page, but that is why I am asking for help or inspiration here. so maybe someone else has ideas what I can show to the users, maybe some slideshow or something, but lets see if someone is bright enough today to come up with an amazing idea

This website is were users can complete surveys for free items, and the main focal point is the surveys page obviously, but according to a poll i made on the website, they did not want that, and said they wanted something different, so im asking here, were it matters, since i guess everyone on here is an expert at websites, what would you suggest i put on this new page? should i for example put a slideshow for users to see pictures? should i put an overview of their account, common everyone, i need ideas please. I know this is a bit cheap asking for things like this for free but this is a forum for others to help out with, and maybe one day ill help someone else on here
June 21, 201214 yr You've answered your own question. The site is for people to fill out surveys for free stuff, so what you want to be doing is pushing your users towards these surveys. If i was building this site i'd have users landing on a page that was an overview of available surveys and their rewards.

In the mean time, anyone else have any ideas?
June 21, 201214 yr Perhaps a sort of overview page... Landing pages shouldnt be needed really, and directing them to a page with pretty images etc isnt going to get any conversions up... Perhaps a page showing available surveys, suggestions, previous ones etc. With lots of call to actions
June 22, 201214 yr It should be a kind of dashboard - a hub for all the content that is accessible once they have logged in.
