Project Management Software

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend some software to do the following:

When we are designing a website we want to have the ability to 'upload' a jpg of the design for the client to approve. They then log in and can see their design and make comments which are attached to that particular design. Then we can add additional revisions (while keeping the previous revisions) until a point where the client is happy and they then 'sign off' the design.

Is there anything like this available that people know of?

A huge bonus if it's a standalone php script and not a subscription based product. An even bigger bonus if someone can find a Joomla based solution.

I was going to suggest Basecamp but it's a subscription service :)

You could look through http://www.opensourcecms.com/scripts/show.php?catid=4&category=Groupware if you wanted a self hosted OS solution, or Google for "helpdesk" scripts.

Alternatively any half decent CMS would allow you to roll your own...

Thanks. Basecamp looks ideal but I don't really want to tie us to a subscription service. My main gripe with a subscription service is the URL being (for example) basecamp.com/xxx and I'd really like a solution that can be made to go with the rest of our website.

We use Joomla quite a lot so I had thought of document management tools for Joomla (their are even project management tools but not brilliant ones).

Hi,

There are other web based project management softwares available like podio, proofhub, assana, zoho, etc. They also offer features similar to basecamp. I have tried basecamp but didn't find it very user friendly so I switched to proofhub which in my opinion is relatively more user friendly. Besides, it has a proofing tool too. So you go through all available options and choose the one which suits you the most.

Hi,

You can try proofhub as it has proofing tool which allows you to upload the jpg file of the design you make so that your clients can see it and review it. I use it myself and it has helped me a lot by reducing the long thread of emails and also saves lot of time.
