New Layout, Need Comments

Featured Replies

I created a new splash page for my personal website and would like to get some feedback on it.

http://www.sazzadhossain.info/

In addition, please give me suggestions on the layout for this new Web2.0 version of my website.

Thanks

I don't think it's very Web 2.0 to be honest, but that's just my opinion.

There's also not much to the site at the moment - it's just one page and so without content or navigation it's difficult to comment on layout as there's nothing to comment on.

Your flash intro is a little slow and just made me click on the 'skip intro' button when I eventually found it.

I agree with E and the fact that your intro is javascript means that if someone hasn't got javascript enabled, they won't see a thing...

Oh sorry, I meant its a splash page. LOL false info I gave above. I haven't started the layout, I just wanted to know what you thought about the splash pages.

The first thing you saw was all dynamic scripting. Its not flash. I made it slow because companies tend to view my personal website a lot and my girlfriend suggested I make it a bit slower than I wanted it. And the one with the image, I was just bored and started playing with stuff and came across that nice script and decided to use it.

A tip for you, more often than not a visitor will click the 'back' button rather than sit out old, dated Javascript text pop-up onto the screen. Your Skin link isn't exactly easy to spot so maybe consider changing that.

Can I ask why you want a splash screen? They've never been useful in the past.

Well I use splash because I have always enjoyed seeing them. However, I have decided to not use that but offer that to my friend. Thank you for your honest comments.

Heh. A friend gave me his and I modified it and used it for myself. He's cool with it. I think I'll stick with this one.

I like the splash, but the thing that put me off was the header with the horrid font - use something like myriad pro if you want to be web 2.0

i like the design.

but i think that on the logo the sazzad hossain should be moved down and to the right.

also i think that the requirements should be in a darker grey.
