April 17, 201214 yr Advice on the Magento site seems conflicting. I have 6 domains and hosting and wish to run them all from one single admin. Magento Wiki gives the impression that it can do it but looking at the videos I'm not so sure? Anybody done this or have some advice/point me to a tut that doesn't overcomplicate things? Cheers
April 17, 201214 yr Yeah, I've done it - it's easy enough to set up, but IMHO once it's done there's not enough emphasis given in the backend to the context you're currently in. Edit: oops, should probably explain how. You need a subfolder of your site's root for each store, each with its own index.php and .htaccess (check all the paths). Each site needs its own Website, Store and 1+ Store View(s). Edited April 17, 201214 yr by Renaissance-Design
April 18, 201214 yr As Mr Renaissance says it's based around store views, to the untrained eye there's not much difference on the admin so when handing over to the client APPROPRIATE USER TUITION is critical! If you're managing the stores yourself then you've less of a problem as the process is actually quite simple to setup.
