February 17, 201214 yr So my wireless has been fine since forever. But over the last 2 days i've noticed lag and high pings when playing video games and browsing on the net. I checked task manager and noticed my wireless adapter had a link speed of '54mbps'. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but i'm sure its the cause considering i've always recalled it being at '100mbps'. How can I fix this? My adapter is: Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n
February 17, 201214 yr It'll be wireless interference, you'll just need to change the wireless channel in your router. 54mbps is the speeds of 'g mode' wireless devices, you might have it set to run a 'g' or the router might not be an 'n mode'. But I wouldn't worry about that, if it was actually connecting at 54mbps you wouldn't have a problem and the chances are (unless you're on fibre) that you get no where 54mbps down your line.

March 20, 201214 yr I get lag from time to time, and it's my Wireless Router which needs me to install some updates. Then once it's done it's back up and running fine again. I notice it on download speeds the most. Tends to drop to a snails pace.
March 20, 201214 yr Did you get a new microwave, cordless phone or baby monitor? Try changing the channel on your router/base station.
