Hi to all, I have to create a portal like this where photographers can post photo, have a profile, and model can post photo...

but some section have to be like pay-per-view, so to access some areas you have to pay a subscription...

 

What cms I have to use?

joomla? or Wordpress + buddypress?

 

I don't know where to start...

You have 3 options

 

1) first option is to buy jomsocial for joomla which comes with the ability to upload photo's.

2) Use buddypress and bp album +, again gives you the ability to upload images.

 

The problem with the first 2 options is that they aren't tailor made to your sites purpose so you end up with all this wasted functionality that you don't need.

 

Also bear in mind that bp album + is unfinished (no global pagination, ratings, stats) so unless you are highly capable with PHP I'd avoid it.

 

The third option which is by far the best, is to teach yourself what ever language you wish and build the site yourself. Sure it will take a hell of a lot longer but you end up with something far superior in the long run and you have new skills! If you was to use joomla and wordpress what would you do if there was ever an issue with the site?

 

I'm in the same boat as you and also working on a couple of photograph/image sharing sites in the end I decided to ditch the CMS and build them both from scratch using Ruby on Rails.

You're right, I can't get the same functionality of that site I've linked before, with some plugin...but It's a job-for-free and I don't want to make a code in PHP on my own...

 

But Ruby on Rail is a good language for programming site? I've read that many uses phyton or Php...(that I know I bit but I can't programming well the security part)...

I think your best bet is to just use buddypress, bp album+ and S2 membership (for premium membership)

 

You're not going to get a pay-per-view system without extensive knowledge of scripting languages and building it yourself.

 

Try to tinker round the the above and see what you can produce.

yes it's the best I can do...because It's useless to spend so many time for a free job...

Many people thinks that our jobs is simple, I have to do this because he is a relative, and maybe he can give me some payed jobs...
