On Sunday the youth team I took under a year ago won there first of 2 cup finals and it also looks like they are going to win promotion...

They are an under 13s team from Edinburgh and have done so well this season...

I have still got a bit of a hangover from Sunday...lol

But Im still proud as punch....

That's awesome news, nice one! Reminds me of my days as an under-13 footballer.

I hope you win promotion! :D

Nice one! Top drawer that mate.

don't get me started on Youth Football coaching, however.

I took my son (he'll be 7 in July) to his first proper football course last week.

The first thing that the (so-called) FA affiliated and FA qualified coach said to all the kids was "Who wants to win lots of trophies?". That's the problem with football in England, its ALL about winning games at any cost rather than developing technique and skills work. They did about 20 minutes of dribbling with the ball and then were straight into 6 a-sides for the rest of the hour!

If coaches worked more on technique and skills, results would follow.

We have done very well for our first season we have only 2 youth teams just now but at start of the new season we will have 8 because of the success of the teams we also have 2 adults teams and every team at the club has won something and all are looking to win league or get promotion.

So our presentation night will be a good one...

There is far to many so called coaches take it far to serious at your sons age the should be making it fun and also working towards developing his football skills.

all the best with your son.
