I have had this site up for review here before, and got alot of good feedback.

 

I applied much of the advice and would like to know if anyone has any new suggestions ?

Remove that background image. Looks dated.

 

Im not saying this will work... but try something like this a repeated background image:

Skip the first page, go for a grainy texture they have.

Hey there!

 

- First of all i would fill the content (wrapper) with color, splitting background from content obviously;

 

- You should reformat the text around the site;

 

- so many boxes around the sides make it really distracting, try something subtle, in one block, separated with light overlay 2px (1px black/1px white);

 

- The green/black gradient isn't much good looking;

 

- Theres a lot of content overall on the page, icons would help navigating the site.

In my opinion you shouldn't have a sign-up form on the homepage. It looks messy and leaves less room for important information, instead have a sign-up button.

 

Layout is quite good. Maybe a larger picture of horse racing to make the site look more interesting.

Thanks, was going for a facebook/twitter approach with a signup form on the homepage ?
