October 24, 201114 yr as the title states i'm just curious which is better as i'm looking at starting a project and i'm curious whether i'd be better of u hand coding or using dreamweaver? i know html and css but i'm just thinkg that maybe DW is easier to organise a site but not a 100% :S cheers
October 24, 201114 yr you can hand code in DW, just don't rely on the design view. Use a browser. Don't use any of its Spry stuff either.
October 24, 201114 yr DW is great for hand-coding in my opinion - that is, if you already have it - but don't go and splash out hundreds of pounds of something you don't need. If I could find a free or cheap alternative to Photoshop that was just as good, I would ditch any updates of CS and just run with Text-Wrangler or Coda and then the free/cheap PS alternative - but alas, the industry norm which is Photoshop requires me to shell out hundreds of pounds for every update Sorry - back on topic - DW is great as long as you hand code, don't use the design view and never use any of the inbuilt functions like spry or the awful php/asp stuff they have in it. Other than that - it is awesome
October 24, 201114 yr No problem using Dreamweaver as a hand coding mechanism. It's a great productivity tool with good auto-complete handling and great FTP/site management features. Just never use the dreaded 'Design View!'
