Designing to even or odd pixels

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

When designing, do you have any rules with widths and heights being even or odd numbers (pixels), I've always tried to stick to even numbers but just wondered what others thought?

Thanks.

I do try and stick with even, purely as it is easier from a mathematical point of view. There are times when things have to be odd numbers, when you start getting technical wither borders, padding, floating etc etc

I don't really 'try' to stick to anything, its just easier to work out in your head when you have a whole round number like 1000x1000 (creating images) or 1800x1000 (creating websites) after that, for websites I get a grid system I want and crop appropriately :)

I dont stick to any number except the 960 grids system ( just recently, before that I've never known about anything related to number in photoshop LOL).
