July 25, 201115 yr I recently got a spam comment. It came from this page: http://www.jetbookingdirect.com/990/the-grand-national-aintree-helicopter-charters/ There's no comment form. Don't even have one coded at all in my theme. Which is a bit worrying, as it seems to suggest these spambots are able to access the form that new themes call out which is bundled in the Includes folder. Thoughts?
July 25, 201115 yr Are comments explicitly closed? If not, try setting WP to automatically close comments after 1 day (or 0 days if it allows). Use the bulk editor to disable comments on all posts and all pages. You could also try a honeypot. Edited July 25, 201115 yr by Renaissance-Design
July 25, 201115 yr If you view it on an iPad, it defaults to that irritating Wordpress iPad theme, complete with a whopping great (well, ish) "leave a comment" button. I'm not saying that's definitely how it happened, but it proves the comments aren't actually disabled! Screenshot: http://db.tt/rOBjrpw

I was about to send him a comment via that method
