Having a blog on your own website enables you to show some fancy tricks, especially if you're leaning towards cutting edge stuff like HTML5 and CSS3.

I have a domain: http://adamscarter.co.uk/ The only problem is the website itself is a little old... So perhaps that should be my next goal
June 26, 201115 yr I'd say the following steps would be to update your site and then set up your blog on your server under your domain. Neverminder is quite right in saying that it's very unprofessional to use a hosted service for your blog if you are a web developer and quite able to set up your own. Also the added flexibility and the fun of setting up is worth while.

So perhaps that should be my next goal Old is probably not the word. Starting a Youtube channel and using blogspot and then giving tutorials without actually using them yourself? Bizarre.
June 26, 201115 yr Author When I created my website on my domain, I initially created my own blog using php, then I chose wordpress because it had a nice iPhone app to go with it, I found the app a lot nicer to use than say loading my website on my phone then going to a page for adding a blog entry. I chose blogspot because it's almost linked in with YouTube as it's all under Google so thought this would be more beneficial for discovering the YouTube channel from Blogspot or vice versa. Also, I wanted to start blogging as soon as possible, and Blogspot was I suppose an easy option for that reason. I think you're right though, maybe redoing my website in terms of everything is the step I need to go down, adding a blog section to it, and unlinking it from BlogSpot is worth it... surely though, creating a Wordpress blog is so much more beneficial than creating one from scratch? In terms of security, and openness.
