June 11, 201115 yr Hi Was wondering if anyone on here has attempted to use Web Fonts. I've had a go but it doesn't seem to work with me. Have followed their instructions. Anyone had the same problems? Fanks

June 11, 201115 yr Yes Google web fonts is good but the choice is some what limited, but if you need a special font then @font-face is always there.

It drives me nuts that Google fonts and @font-face are aliased on older browsers and most windows machines, but it really beats the alternatives. Cufon is great visually but its a nightmare when it comes to performance, and being unable to select text. sIFR, image-replacement and pretty much every other technique doesn't have a place on production sites, so GWF and @font-face are really the only two viable options . June 11, 201115 yr Most of Google fonts look terrible – both aliased and anti-aliased. They are ugly, bad designed.
June 11, 201115 yr Author I just wanted to see if there is an alternative to sodding Arial or Verdana. They lack any sort of anything. Have tried out Google and the fonts are fine. Aliased nicely and no "stepped" edges, that suits me just fine My link
