I am new here, so, big HI from Bulgaria!

I was just about to register a domain name for one of my clients, but wondered what is the best "solution" or choise. So let's say that the company is called "Johny" and is dealer of Building materials.

My idea for the domain was "Johnybg.com", because of the origin. But as "Johny" talks absolutely nothing about building materials, or even market, I've decided to change it to "Johnymarket.com".

The best solution I guess is "Johny.bg", but as the price is insane, I've crossed it out.

 

So what is the best choise for a domain name? Do you have any futher ideas? Does it affact to the search engine results?

The best would be simple, easy for clients to use to locate the site and descriptive. It doesn't have to be cleaver.

 

If the company is called Johnny and the domain is still available then i'd go with that as his customer will automatically want to search for that.

Another good approach from an SEO viewpoint is to use a domain with the primary keyword in - even some big companies get a little boost from that, as any URL to the site will automatically include the keyword rather than relying purely on the link text.

 

For example: B&Q (largest home improvements chain in the UK)

The domain *company*.bg is still free, thats what I want to purchase, now it depends on the client

Thats a pretty cool idea, but its more usefull for big companies.
