January 22, 201115 yr I'm looking for a CMS, preferably Wordpress to meet the following needs for a real estate site; be able to upload unlimited properties. Tenants should be able to register and pay a fee whereupon they receive a membership no. It should have search boxes plus an interactive map for searches. I know Wordpress and the great real estate plugin can deal with most of it, but i'm not sure about registering and the tenant paying a fee and given a membership number? any ideas how this would be done?
January 22, 201115 yr Wordpress is great but for real rastate sites I would suggest looking into Joomla! CMS. It's far better for options and extensions concerning all things real estate... Hit me up if you need any further info.
January 22, 201115 yr I just did a estate agent site - Joomla + com_properties component... Not for the feint hearted, but a nice result

January 24, 201115 yr Author Here's a link to one I created using the Hot Property extension that's available for Joomla. http://horizonhomes-samui.com Ah great site, on a scale of 1-10 how difficult would you say it was to create (1 being easy). Also would you mind sharing how much you roughly charged for it and the time scale of the project hmm decisions decisions...
January 24, 201115 yr If you've used Joomla! before I would put it at about 6-7 out of 10. If you have never used Joomla before would be more of a 4-5 as you're going to have to get your head around the Joomla! CMS first. I did that site for a Thailand based company and charged in the local currency as I was living there. It was also done about 3 or 4 years back so hard to work out how much it would be in UK pounds. But I think a ball park of £1500 would be about right. One tip I would give is that if they want you to upload tonnes of properties I would outsource that part. Its what I did as adding shed loads of properties is really dull and time consuming.
