I'm starting to use cms' can you give me some ideas of cms that are not to complicated and are easy to theme with my own designs.

Wont come much easier to skin that ModX IMHO

Perch is incredibly basic and easy to implement - but it's not the typical kind of CMS - but have a look at it as it's very easy to use.

 

I use Perch on some simple small sites, but mostly use Wordpress as a CMS for everything else.

Ive heard many good things from perch too.. if you can afford the 35 charge to use it

Using Wordpress as a CMS is becoming more popular so don't pass it by straight away. With a few choice plugins it is really powerful and VERY easy to theme!

The charge for perch is passed onto the client as part of the fee for the job, so I deal with it that way, but still it's cheap and so I would still pay that if I wanted to use it for a personal project. The customer support is absolutely brilliant - it's like getting one-to-one tuition everytime you have a problem until it's solved and the response time is super fast too. try to use Drupal..its too good..more over Which is the open source CMS platform that is Very useful for content management and drupal web development. This is not the 'add on' content management system feature of old, but a whole new way of creating great looking and highly functional online masterpieces that allow the client complete control over the content and function of the web experience.
