August 16, 201015 yr Hi folks, I've revamped our company website, all comments welcome. (I'm still doing some testing but its 99% complete) urban3d
August 16, 201015 yr Overall looks cool although I was expecting to be able to click on the images on the front page as well. The Flash drawings, clever that they are, seem a bit slow to me. I've already wanted to move on and explore by the time they've got anywhere. And then when you go back to the page they start all over again. That annoyed very quickly.
August 16, 201015 yr Looks good like the minimalistic theme to the site. Let the work do the talking!
August 16, 201015 yr Throw that javascript into its own separate file too... I second the animation comment..
August 16, 201015 yr Throw that javascript into its own separate file too... When you say this does that mean you can put any javascript into a .js file and link to it and it will work? If so can you do this with google analytics code?
August 17, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the comments folks, some very helpful feedback. I'm going to centre the text on the images in the home page and also turn each image into a button. I'm not sure what you mean by putting the javascript into its own folder. Will this then run faster? I've tried my best to get the flash animation down to a smaller file size but without losing any of the quality. Has anyone any idea if theres a better method to the one I've used? Thanks again!
August 17, 201015 yr Put some kind of loading bar into the flash so that once it has fully loaded it shows the movie
August 17, 201015 yr Put some kind of loading bar into the flash so that once it has fully loaded it shows the movie that will probably defeat the object of the animation?!
August 17, 201015 yr that will probably defeat the object of the animation?! Its the best way, so that users wont get the slow lag?
August 17, 201015 yr my comment on the animation was nothing to do with lag with the .swf loading, that is fine, it's the animations themselves and their timeline.
