Need help following a PS tutorial

Featured Replies

So I'm doing this tutorial and when it comes to this part "In your canvas, marquee select your header size which will be filled with a gradient effect. Height of 60px and width of 800px." I'm confused as what to do.

I understand everything in that except what a header is in this context. I know what a header is in terms of a web page but not for this.

Here is the tutorial incase you don't follow me, I'm on step 2:

http://www.zymic.com/tutorials/photoshop/mp3-player-design/

I tried just putting a marquee rectangle 60x800 pixels on the white rectangle but it didn't end up looking the same as the pic in the tutorial.

Can someone explain step 2 to me, mainly, the part about the marquee and header.

Thanks for any help.

And if anyone knows of any tutorials on how to make mp3 players/tablet/etc. in photoshop , please let me know. I'm trying to make a mockup of a product to use for a future website.

From what I understand (and the way you and the writer have described it), you've done it right.

I read it that you use the marquee tool on a new layer to create a header 60x800 pixels in size.

Maybe we're just both idiots lol
