What else do i need?

Featured Replies

What else do i need...i got:

Dreamweaver

Komodo Edit

Notepad ++

Do i need:

Wordpress?

Joomla?

etc...

If i do need joomla or wordpress, can you tell me what they do?

Thanks to all who helps

Joomla and Wordpress are not desktop based applications, they are open source software which you upload and install to a web server (generally anyway).

Once you have installed Joomla and Wordpress to the server they act as content management systems for your clients or yourself to be able to log in and have a point and click interface to manage the content of their web site.

(I find good old calculator helps a lot :p)

Hi, you can also try using the following: fireworks, adobe illustrator and adobe flash.

Epicswebs is right wordpress and joomla are both an open source into which you can upload and install. This two are both plays a role of CMS means content management systems into which you can log in and be able to add, update or edit the contents of your website.

Thanks!

okay ppl, thanks for the help...anyone willing to recommend a place for beginner Flash tuts?? Thanx in advanbce, ash

er.. I would recommend not learning flash until you have learned to design a site first using photoshop, fireworks or gimp etc.

Totally agree. Flash is defo a secondary skill to learn. Might look sexier, but get the basics first!

I also agree a big buttoned basic calculator!

Also Firefox with both Firebug and Web Developer Toolbar installed.

And finally. Design for Firefox. Tweek for IE!

Regs,

Numb

Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS5 and Adobe InDesign CS5 are excellent pieces of software for designing various things.
