January 30, 200818 yr Hi all, Anyone done the Open University Web Design Course? If so, what did you think of it? Link here: http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?C01T183 Many thanks Rob
January 30, 200818 yr I've not done it but it's very very basic and won't really teach you much about proper web design, HTML, or CSS, it looks more like a "knock up a few web pages in a WYSIWYG editor" type coures... "The course uses Nvu as its web authoring tool and teaches very little HTML coding." http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?C01TT280 might be a little better but I bet they still teach table based layouts!
January 31, 200818 yr Looking at the website in your signatutre if you created it then it looks like you can do everything that course you mentioned has to offer you. Then looking at the code of that site in your sig, if you created it then you are in real need of learning css based layouts and how to create a site that works on all levels of web design rather than just the very basic basic level. Its all well and good to be able to design an interface but if you can't code it correctly and to standard then you really need to look into how to do this... If you need that extra push of motivation then spend the money, if not then go it alone there are pleanty of sites that offer this type of information for free so if you are self motivated then you would proobably be better doing it youself than through a course like this.
