I wonder if there's anybody who could help me on this? I'm not even sure if it's a CMS query or not.

Basically, I've been asked to build a site for a local charity organisation who require a page containing a table (or list) of the last year's 12 monthly newsletters. As each new newsletter comes out, It will need to be added to the top of the list. Thereby pushing the older ones down one. The oldest then needs to be deleted so that only 12 items appear. (does that make sense?).

 

Is there any way I can automate this process? As they are a charity, I've cut the costs back to bare minimum and that means the less time on site maintenance, I have to do for them, the better it is for me. I don't mind dragging files in on a monthly basis but rearranging a table or list every month would be a pain.

A CMS would be able to handle that for you, but the ease of adding newsletter details to the list depends whether you use the CMS for the mailings.

 

There are a few options:

 

1. If you use a standalone newsletter/mailing list system these often have an archive page that lists recent mailings

 

2. If you use a CMS for the mailings then it's a relatively simple process to list out the most recent 12 newsletter entries, the list would auto populate whenever a mailing was sent.
